A year ago today I was working when at 11:12 am my phone rang. It had the 703 area code on it that anyone who uses America World Adoption Agency is very familiar with and I KNEW that this was it. I took a deep breath as I answered it trying not to let the excitment of what I knew I would hear bleed through the phone to Lauren. Months earlier the Lord had whispered to me that we would get the call in October. We had updated our application to SN back in April and then again in July to include boy. We knew that SN batches typically came every 3-4 months and with the last batch in June I just knew that we would get the call in October. The details of the day can be read at the beginning of my blog. Below is the sweet face I saw when I waited a few minutes later for my email to open up. He took my breath away! The first thing I locked in on were his eyes. I would know those eyes anywhere as they reminded me SO MUCH of my other children's eyes. Anyone who knows Hudson knows how he talks with his eyes. They are absolutely full of spunk as is this boy. I remember not even seeing his cleft at first as I took in every detail of his sweet face, hands and body. We had said "yes" to over half of the SN's listed but once again just knew our child would have a cleft. (I will have a story about that later).
As I was putting Hudson to bed last night he was jabbering away and he kept saying "China". This is one of the words he has learned and he can say it clearly (and also find China on the globe!). I would love to know what was going on in his head...does he just like saying the word or does he have some recollection of a life before this one? Not sure, but what I am sure of is:
"My Cup Runneth Over!" and I hope he feels the same way! I think he does as he loves life like no other!!!

How those cute little pictures changed our life! The day of seeing our referral pictures will be ingrained in our minds forever as we remeber how we felt and where we were at the moment. I let a whole batch of muffins burn when they called for Katie. Hudson is such a cutie!

Hi Sharon
Sheri here in AZ. What a wonderful story. Hudson is adorable (I love that name) I can not even imagine what that referral day must be like.
Speaking of names, the Bublitz name is one that I inherited from my loving husband. He and his immediate family are from Michigan. Dave does not believe that he has any family in Minnesota.
Thank you for sharing your story with us. My prayer is that god one day "whispers" to us! In the mean time we are busy getting all our docs in!
Thanks for following our journey we welcome prays and encouragement. The AWAA group is such a wonderful blessing.
Sincerely
Sheri
ps the rest of your family is beautiful
