My sweet boy!

From the very beginning of our adoption journey we prayed that our child would be loving and affectionate with a very sweet spirit.   Hudson has exceeded our expectations in that department.  I was walking with him down the hall at work last week when he reached up and took my hand.  When I looked down at him he was looking up at me smiling and said "I love you".    The I love you's can be heard throughout each day and every time my heart melts.  He will tell us "I will miss you" when one of us is leaving him, even if just for a few hours and he never welcomes us home whether it be a few minutes or several hours without a full on run to hug us followed by "I missed you".   Since spring has sprung and Hudson has discovered the weeds/flowers growing outside he has taken to picking at least one every few days and leaving it by my bed...usually without me knowing.  I have even found dandelions with just the seeds in a jar of water....how sweet is that?  I think he is a bit of a romantic....
As I have mentioned my mom was a huge gardener and loved working in her flowers.  I also grew up eating home made jams/jellies from the fruit she grew.  I love that Hudson has started putting his flowers in her jelly jars....
It was six months ago today she went to be with Jesus and this was by my bed this morning...

Mothers Day 2010

I had one of the best Mother's Day I have had in a while...it started off with flowers from Mark and a sweet card from the kids and the gift of a picnic table which I have wanted for some time..can't wait for those back yard cookouts!  We then went off to church where I went with my three teens to Youth.  They had a special Mother's Day service with worship, a funny game, a great Nooma video, a hilarious video with one of my best friends Renee and her son Jake, Jordan's oldest friend (hope to post it here soon) and it ended with my kids praying for me and me for them.  What a joy to hear them bless and honor me in prayer....for all you mom's with little ones..."Train them in the way they should go...." We then headed off to eat and I slept away my meal with a 3 HOUR nap (did I need sleep or what?).  It was a cold, rainy day, ideal for sleeping.
I AM BLESSED!!

Of course I missed my mom even more today.  Below are some pictures I took while touring a plantation garden last week in Charleston.  I thought SO many times how much my mom would have loved those gardens and I wished I could share them with her but then the Lord reminded me she was enjoying for more glorious gardens and I shouldn't be sad for her......but I was still a little sad for me!
Miss you Mom...thanks for teaching me how to be a great mom!
