In the Light of Eternity

It is so hard to believe that one year ago today we met a scared, sad and very mad little boy in Lanzhou, China. The day had been so long with touring in the morning, a pearl factory in the afternoon and our delayed flight from Beijing. We finally made it to Lanzhou and took the hour ride to the hotel where we were told we had 20 minutes before we met the babies downstairs. They had actually been waiting most of the day for us. It was shortly after 9:00 p.m. when we walked in the room and saw them. I will never forget the day. First I saw Andrew, then Abby and then finally....HUDSON....we weren't given the kids at first as we had to have our paperwork looked at to see if it was in order but soon Hudson was placed in my arms while his nanny ran out of the room crying.....SUCH mixed emotions. The first picture above is in our hotel room where he went and hid behind the bed and FINALLY was coaxed out with cheerios and bubbles....it was SOO sad.

SO much has happened in a year and I will take the next few days to recap. We celebrated our first Gotcha Anniversary with my family that lives here in MN. What a blessing to be able to celebrate with them and especially my parents who were with us last year in China. We went to PF Changs and then to Cold Stone for dessert. We actually celebrated on the 29th as it was Sunday and all family could make it but it was March 30th in China........a day we will NEVER forget!!!!!!!!!!!!
