A Minnesota snow in Texas

I have lived in the south for almost 17 years and have seen many snowfalls that Texans get excited over (it is usually ice). Growing up in MN I know what a real snow is like and last night we had one. It was beautiful and we woke up this morning to a sunny day and about four inches of snow. It was a winter wonderland for a few hours (and school was two hours late, my fellow Minnesotans would laugh). As I drove to work I was homesick. I forget how fresh and clean it makes everything look and how a blanket of snow over everything feels very comforting. It quickly warmed up to 50 degrees but not before the kids ate their fill of snow in cups....just like at Christmas time mom!! The picture above is our front yard and below is looking out across the street.........

Hi Sharon!!!!! I am so glad you signed our blog last night!!! What a blessing to hear from you! CONGRATULATIONS on BEAUTIFUL Hudson! I am so excited that you will be traveling with Denise. Another Mom I want to meet in person someday!!! Your story below about Hudson's name is so heart warming. I love your snow pictures. I got some very similar from my brother yesterday. I think I told you that he is in Bonham.. How fun to have all of that snow. It is snowing quietly outside as I type. Blessings to you as you go to bring your precious son home. I will now save your blog to my favorites. And, I will pray that you have an amazing trip and that Hudson bonds quickly!!! Again, congratulations!
Blessings,
Diana

I am so glad to hear that your kids ate some of the snow! Landry and I made snow ice cream, snow + vanilla + milk + sugar. My grandfather used to make this for me when I was little. Anyway, a friend of mine told me the snow got dirty as it floated down through the atmosphere and that her child couldn't eat it!! I think it tasted good enough to take the chance! :-)

I love that about snow too! Here in TN, we don't get much snow anymore but growing up here 20+ years ago, we did. Just want you to know I am praying hard for you and Denise and your families! Thank your for your amazing testimony each day while you wait!

Hi Sharon!
I heard you might be leaving soon to go get your sweet boy. You are in my prayers and I wish I could be the fly on the wall when they hand Hudson over. If I could skip the flight, I would love to be in China again. I am eager to hear more......just a few more day ;)

sincerely-
Branda
(who has a fat little boy now!)
