Well, after an absolutely insane three weeks I think my life is getting back to normal. This never means slowing down as four kids, soccer games, vb games, speech therapy, homework, a part-time job, board duties, church obligations, and just the "normal" life stuff keep me on the go but at least the hosting of baby showers, post placement visits, organizing banquets and fall school board obligations are over for now.
In the midst of the last few weeks we passed our 6 month milestone with Hudson. As I typed up our report for our homestudy caseworker for our post placement visit I was reminded of all the things Hudson has learned over the last six months. Since this is also our family scrapbook I wanted to record them here.

As I typed up our report for our homestudy caseworker for our post placement visit I was reminded of all the things Hudson has learned over the last six months. Hudson has learned:
-to drink from a cup
-crawl
-roll over
-stand up from a sitting position
-sit from a standing position
-run
-jump
-climb
-pray!! This is the only time he will vocalize in a long series of sounds,,,it is a stange little language (??hmm) but precious!! He won't let anyone eat until we pray and it is always a nighttime routine with the girls.
-ENGLISH
-about 100 signs
-go potty in the potty chair (although not consistent yet)
-open the fridge and help himself (LOL!!)
-find the way to our house from the highway (and yell "HOME" when we pull in the driveway)
-fold clothes (he is my biggest helper)
-unload the dishwasher
-pop popcorn (in the microwave, don't worry, only with assitance)
-brush his teeth
-make the bed
-take lint out of the dryer
.........I think I could go on.......He continues to delight us daily with his sweet and entertaining personality. He has become VERY active, I think he realized he has a lot of catching up to do. He is definetly ALL boy but full of hugs and kisses for us all. Everyday he is using more words!! It is hard to believe we have been home six months but then again, we can't think what life was like without him!!
We having NOTHING planned for the weekend and are looking forward to just taking time to smell the flowers!

It surprised me with the list you just typed down! I didn't realize that hudson had learned that much in six months.

What a busy little guy in these last months!! How fun to look and see all that he has learned. He is such a cutie. You must be such an awesome Mom as you wear all your hats!! What an awesome family.

Sharon,
Hudson looks so happy and I am praising God with you for all of his accompishments.
This song is a good one that reflects the adoption journey. We leave in 24 days to bring home Shayle. I can't wait and yet I'm getting a little anxious too.
